Corbett National Park is one of the oldest national parks in India established in the year 1936 as
Hailey National Park, and then renamed as Ramganga National Park in 1952 and finally as
Corbett National Park in 1957 after Jim Corbett, famous hunter and naturalist. This national park
is known for conserving endangered species of Tigers including the ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’ under
the Project Tiger initiative launched in 1973. Corbett National Park is located in Ramnagar
village, which is in Nainital District.
