Kalimpong is a beautiful town, which is also the headquarters of Kalimpong district. This mountainous town is located about 50 kms east of Darjeeling at an altitude of 1200 meters. The Teesta River flows through this town and separates the state of Sikkim from Kalimpong, a town surrounded by the snow-laden peaks of the majestic Kanchenjunga. It is often said that the name ‘Kalimpong’ has been derived from the presence of Kaulim trees found in this region, and after a place in Bhutan.

    - Deolo viewpoint, at an altitude of 1914 meters gives a view of the Teesta River, the greenish hue of the hills and mountains and the Kalimpong town. Here also lies an eight acre park which has well-maintained gardens and flower nurseries.
    - Dr.Graham’s home, a school built by the British in 1900 to admit poor Anglo-Indian children. Currently it is a public school, which is open for all.
    - St.Teresa Church, built in the form of a monastery, the walls have Bible scenes where the murals are dressed in Buddhist monk clothing.
    - Tharpo Choling Monastery, built in 1692 is the oldest monastery of Kalimpong built by the Bhutanese.
    - Old Bungalows like Morgan House, Crockety, Galingka built by the British during the colonial times are now maintained by the state government as part of the heritage tour of Kalimpong.
