Jaldhaka is a river that originates at East Sikkim and passes through Bhutan while crossing partially through the Bhutan-Bengal border. While passing through this route, the Jaldhaka River has created a valley located about 1500 ft above sea level that has helped in the development of a tourist destination in the Dooars region. The Jaldhaka valley is a congregation of several small villages, which lie, in this beautiful and natural landscape. Cardamom plantations and several varieties of mountainous birds are the speciality of this peaceful valley, which is still untouched by the humdrum of city life.

Other places to visit are Jhalong, and Paren, which are scenic places known for lush green mountains, valleys and the naturally wonderful views around. Todey and Tangta are two small villages located about 1500 metres altitude at the farthest end of the Indian Border, which are controlled by the Indian Army.
