Ghoom, or Ghum is a small hilly town located about 6 kms from the main Darjeeling district. The railway station of Ghoom falls on the way while going towards Darjeeling from the Hill Cart Road. It is India’s highest railway station established in 1881, which lies at an altitude of 7407 feet and has featured in many movies, and television series owing to its sleepy nature and the very famous toy trains, run by the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
