Joypur forest is situated about 140 kms from Kolkata in the district of Bankura under Bishnupur subdivision, which is famous for its burnt terracotta temples and forests of Sal, Teak, Mahua and Palash trees. The area of the forest is around 120 square kilometers with a watchtower to explore the greenery and occasional sightings of the spotted Chital deer, which are found in abundance here. Along with that, one can also spot parrots and other birds, which move in between the Sal, teak, Amla trees.
