Forest Resort Sundarban - SMR97
Sunderbans is one of the largest delta islands in Asia, and an UNESCO world heritage site and Ramsar Wetland site since 1987 and 2019 respectively. The name ‘Sundarbans’ comes from the abundance of Sundari trees which are a variety of mangrove, a species which grows in marshy lands and has roots above the ground. It is a tiger reserve, national park and a biosphere reserve where salt water crocodiles, reptiles, birds of different species, Gangetic dolphins and the famous Royal Bengal Tiger move around.
