The region of Frasergunj was named after Andrew Fraser, a British builder in the 1900s who tried to build a resort here but could not due to the fierce sea waves, which washed away the construction. The ruins of the construction can still be seen here.
- Henry Island - Another small island stretch known for its calm and tranquil ambience. It is just five kilometers from the Bakkhali beach.
- Sagar Island - The Sagar Island is known for the Gangasagar mela or Gangasagar fair, which is held in the month of January every year for three days. It is the second largest congregation of pilgrims after the Kumbh Mela and is visited by lakhs of pilgrims. The Sagar Island stretches for about 300 kilometers, and is known for the place where the River Hooghly meets the Bay of Bengal.
