Weekend - Mundira - MUN15
Located in Birbhum district, under the Ilambazar subdivision and Jaydev Kenduli panchayat, lies Mundira, a least populated village where only about 49 persons reside as per the last Census counted in 2011. Bearing nearness to Bolpur, Tagore’s abode and popular for Shantiniketan , Mundira is mentioned in the religious tourist circuit of Bengal along with Jaydev Kenduli, which is known for its burnt terracotta temples from the early seventeenth century.
About the Hotel/Resort :The resort in Mundira is a kind of Ashram or an abode where hermits or ascetics reside to gain spiritual and indigenous knowledge. The owner of this Ashram believes that individuals indulging in spiritual practice while being connected with Mother Nature can gain self-realization and cosmic consciousness. With this firm belief, this Ashram is located amidst the lap of nature with Ajay River and small-forested area nearby. The mud huts are decorated traditionally and one can get the feel of living a village life while hearing to the sounds of birds singing melodiously.
