For anyone, who wishes to have a getaway to a private beach yet affordable one, Bakkhali is the perfect choice. It is a hidden seaside hamlet located in South Twenty-four Parganas, where one can just forget about everything and enjoy the natural beauty of surroundings. So I planned a short trip to this seaside town few months ago with my three office colleagues. Though the place can be directly accessed by the road only so we reached easily by road.
The very moment after reaching you will get the fresh essence in nature and can feel the tranquility in the ambiance. On a lazy evening, you can just sit on the seashore and watch how gently the waves are rolling. Though the waves are not as big as Digha, no big rush yet it was very relaxing to watch the soothing waves crashing on the shore while sipping hot tea from earthen pots – I mean I can do that for hours.

  One can also walk around with coconut water. Although, Bakkhali is near to the Sundarban, the place is surrounded by many small islands here and there. Amongst them, the most known one is Henry’s Island which is a serene island near the Bakkhlai Village. One is sure to be mesmerized by the fresh air, unexploited beach and the panoramic view.
  . The beach walks, wind farms, boat rides, islands, cycle rides around town- overall Bakkhali can be an exotic getaway for anyone.
