The small hilly town is beautifully ornamented with well-maintained gardens, mystic hills and natural lakes. Kalimpong has unlimited options for adventures and food which make it a perfect treat for adventure lovers and food-hunters. Kalimpong is around 50 km on the eastern part of Darjeeling. So, you can reach thereby taking the road as this place is just few kms away from Silliguri and Bagdogra.
You will find a number of private and shared taxis and bus; it takes just 2 and a half hours to drive from Silliguri. Although Kalimpong is not as bustling as the town Darjeeling, it still attracts a large number of tourists almost all over the year. Here you can explore many ancient temples, monasteries and old churches as according to many people the area was ruled by many Bhutanese kings. The Jang Dong Palriffo Brang and Thongsa Gompa are the marks of Bhutanese history.

• People touring here must visit the place Durpin Dara hill and Deolo Hill, which are perhaps the best places in Kalimpong to get a clear and mesmerizing view of the great Kanchenjunga range towards north beyond the hills of Sikkim. You can also get a panoramic view of the complete Kalimpong town and Teesta River from this place. If you are a cactus lover then Kalimpong has this amazing surprise for you! The Cactus Nursery, where you will see a huge variety of cactus. Moreover, Kalimpong is the land of the largest number of commercial flower nurseries where you will find a great range of exotic beautiful flowers.
  Kalimpong has a cool and calm weather throughout the year which makes it more acceptable to the tourists. There are generally no extremities of temperatures; the weather of days is pleasant all through the year, where the nights tend to be cooler. But if you ask me, I suggest visiting Kalimpong either in March to May or September to November, as these are the peak time to be around this small hilly paradise. Kalimpong had been on my list for sometimes since I read about the mystic Morgan House. So, I and my best friend decided a trip to this majestic hill station.
